John 6:67-68 says, “Then Jesus said to the twelve, ‘Do you also want to go away?’ But Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.'” Verse 66 says that many of Jesus’ disciples turned away from him after some hard teachings they misunderstood. So Jesus asked what the 12 are going to do. Peter got it right: only Jesus has the words of eternal life. Think about that. Who else do you know that spoke of life beyond the grave as much as Jesus? Who else had as much confidence about this topic? No one. Jesus is the only one who could speak the truth about it because he came from the heavenly realm, from the very presence of the Father. Everyone else is a fraud, a charlatan, a fake. Though we haven’t been there yet, let’s share the word of eternal life with others with the same certainty Jesus did.
