John 4:23 says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth: for the Father is seeking such to worship him.” Jesus said this in his conversation with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. He says our worship of him must be “in spirit” (or genuine from the heart) and “in truth” (or according to what is true/accurate about him). He also said the Father seeks such worshipers. This is the only verse I know in the whole Bible that makes this claim. The Father is Seeker, Jesus is Savior, and the Holy Spirit is Sanctifier (“holy” Spirit) who is with us forever. Thank the Lord today that all 3 divine Persons are keeping us secure in him.
