Devotional Observation – July 1, 2017

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Here we have perhaps the clearest statement of the incarnation, God becoming man: the Word became flesh. He became one of us “yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). There is a TV show called “Undercover Boss.” Think of the incarnation as “Undercover God.” Jesus seems like a regular guy, but there is something about him that’s different. That’s grace and truth. He was (and still is) full of it. When we get saved, each one of us is like an Undercover Jesus. Do those around us see grace and truth in us? That was the part of his glory that was recognizable to the outside world. How full of it are we?
