Psalm 133:1 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” This is another of King David’s songs to be sung going up the mountain to Jerusalem for feast days. It speaks of the joy of being together united in purpose. As Jewish worshipers closed in on the city, their numbers would increase. Here is something I just learned: together and unity are the same Hebrew word, meaning a double emphasis illustrated by their arrival at Jerusalem. They were physically closer to each other as well as spiritually united. When we as believers and family members have these same two goals in mind, it can make a huge impact on spiritual outsiders around us.
