Psalm 132:13-14 says, “For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: ‘This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.'” Zion always speaks of the city of Jerusalem. In some contexts it speaks of the spiritual city of heaven. Here is is the physical capital of Israel. Since God desired this city, is it any wonder that a false religion (Islam) has made it their top third city after Mecca and Medina? And that there is constant turmoil there today? And that World War 3 could start over contentions in this city? No other city in the world would/could start such a global conflict! Only when the world desires what God desires will we see peace, and that only comes by trusting in the Prince of Peace, Jesus (Isaiah 9:6).
