Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Here we see the balance of living a fruitful life for the Lord. First, we find our peace with him through Scripture, knowing the God behind the book. This reminds me of Isa. 26:3, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on (or upheld by) you, because he trusts in you.” Second, knowing God intimately keeps us from stumbling. See 2 Peter 1:10 and Jude 24. Isn’t it true that nothing bothers us when we have God’s peace? Don’t be like many superficial believers who only want the blessings without the Blesser.
