Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Lamps and lights go together. So do feet and paths. But a lamp with my feet and a light on my path is far, far better. Illumination for the journey is essential in helping us see what is ahead, whether it’s an open prairie, a mountainous climb, a rickety bridge or a coming storm. With visibility we can prepare for what’s ahead. And that’s what God’s Word does for our journey through life. May we all be better prepared for the journey we’re all on…toward the Kingdom.
