Devotional Observation – April 30, 2017

Daniel 2:46-47 says, “Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him. The king answered Daniel, and said, ‘Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.’” After Daniel fully explained the meaning of the king’s dream, Nebuchadnezzar did a face plant right in front of him. What would it be like for any president, prime minister, even dictator to do that today? For at least at that moment he totally humbled himself and confessed Daniel’s God (and our God) “the God of Gods [and] Lord of kings…” The king did this because Daniel and his friends had bowed in prayer earlier (vs. 17-23). As Christians, let’s do similarly by praying for, influencing and leading in our circles of friends today, especially among outsiders.
