Daniel 2:9 says, “‘If you do not make known the dream to me, there is only one decree for you! For you have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till the time has changed. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can give me its interpretation.’” Nebuchadnezzar had a dream so troubling it woke him up and kept him awake. Calling his ‘wise men’ from Babylon University, he insisted they tell him the dream and the interpretation (vs. 1-2), promising great rewards or death for failure (vs. 5-6). They needed to know the dream before they could interpret it, stalling for time since they could “not make the dream known” to him. Worldly philosophies and false worldviews always come up short. Worldly universities neither teach nor engender godly wisdom. Let’s ensure our thinking is biblical so that outsiders see the difference in us today.
