Devotional Observation – March 4, 2017

John 20:1-2 says, “Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, ‘They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.'” Early on Sunday morning several women went to the tomb with spices (Luke 24:1). Earlier an angel moved the stone (Matthew 28:2). John doesn’t write all of what happened (women speaking with angels, etc.). Luke records they were “perplexed” (24:4), almost despairing, so they went to the 11 disciples. In times of confusion and despair, do we avoid our Christian brothers and sisters? Let’s keep the fellowship of the saints in good times and bad.
