John 12:47-48 says, “And if anyone hears my words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects me, and does not receive my words, has that which judges him–the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” Jesus said this just before his last Passover and impending death. He “did not come to judge the world but to save the world” his first time here. People today like this part about Jesus. But that doesn’t mean rejecters get off easy; not at all. Jesus said God’s “word…will judge him in the last day” (v. 50). People don’t like this part at all, so the tend to ignore it. No one gets to pick and choose their preferences about him. Let’s not make this mistake ourselves.
