John 4:39 and 41 says, “And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in [Christ] because of the word of the woman who testified, ‘He told me all that I ever did’… And many more believed because of his own word.” Here we see the impact of a witness for Christ. The Samaritan woman shares what she knows of Jesus: he told me all that I ever did. Witnesses like her accurately tell what they know is true. As such, witnesses are personal conduits of information. The impact brought greater attention to Jesus, and the result was that many more believed in him because of his own word. They met face-to-face with him and were saved. That’s what genuine witnesses long for. It’s all about him, not them. Is it the same with us?
