Devotional Observation – July 26, 2016

John 4: 43-44 says, “Now after the two days he departed from there and went to Galilee. For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.” After 2 days in Samaria Jesus went home. Usually most people enjoy going home. It brings thoughts of good memories and warm feelings. Not for Jesus. He was different. He was a prophet among people without one. He was holy and they were not. So he had to do signs for them to welcome him (v. 45). But they didn’t trust him. Believers are likewise often rejected by their families. That’s why they are harder to win. More is demanded of us too. How are we doing in giving lost family members something different to see in us and hear from us?
