Devotional Observation – October 16, 2016

John 12:12-13 says, The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, and cried out: ‘Hosanna! “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!” The King of Israel!'” Jesus presented himself as “the King of Israel.” The Jews wanted to do this earlier (6:15) but the timing was wrong. The Triumphal Entry was the right time when he rode a donkey into Jerusalem. “Hosanna” means save, or salvation now. It fulfilled the promise of Zechariah 9:9 and they quoted Psalm 118:25-26, all done according to God’s script. In life, God has his part and we have ours. Let’s not try to do God’s part and worry about ours. The proper balance is trusting God for his and working on ours.
