John 12: 9-11 says, “Now a great many of the Jews knew that he was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.” Many people came to see not only Jesus but Lazaras too, now back from the dead. And who could blame them? I’d be there too if I could. Wouldn’t you? He was proof positive of the power of Jesus. But it was the last straw for “the chief priests” who lost all credibility in light of such power. They only hardened their hearts. It’s no use trying to convince such outsiders. So let’s show them the power and joy of Christlike lives whatever their actions and reactions.
