John 7:31-32 says, “And many of the people believed in him, and said, ‘When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than these which this man has done?’ The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.” Jesus had been doing many miracles (signs) that sparked much conversation among the Jewish crowd about whether or not he was their Messiah (the Christ). This agitated the religious establishment so much they tried to arrest (take) him. Getting arrested for doing good…even miracles? Yep. We live in such times today where hard core atheists, secularized leaders and multicultural fadists advocate criminalizing Christian parents for teaching their faith to their own kids, feeding the hungry in Christ’s name and belief in traditional marriage. They did it to Christ; they’ll do it to us. Do it anyway. That’s how the Kingdom grows.
