Psalm 106:8 says, “Nevertheless [God] saved them for his name’s sake that he might make his mighty power known.” This speaks of God saving Israel out of Egypt after they “sinned… committed iniquity…[and] done wickedly” (v. 6). It tells how and why: for his name and to make his power known. It is the same with Jesus saving us: we could never save ourselves, so he did it for his own purposes. Thank him today!
