Devotional Observation – August 15, 2016

John 6:39-40 says, “This is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of him who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”  Here again Jesus promised a resurrection (raise up) at the end of time for all believers who see the Son and believe in him. The Jews who ate the multiplied fish and loaves certainly saw him (v. 36) but sadly didn’t believe him. When Jesus said he would “lose nothing, he fulfilled this in 18:9 when he got his disciples dismissed from being arrested with him. Since Jesus kept his word with them, that’s proof he won’t lose us either. Thank him for our security in him today.
