Devotional Observation – July 28, 2016

John 5:10-11 says, “The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, ‘It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.’ He answered them, ‘He who made me well said to me, “Take up your bed and walk.”‘” In this chapter Jesus healed a sick man crippled for 38 years. Imagine walking for the first time in nearly 4 decades! The Jews never praised God for this miracle. They had no power except the law and legalism. Jesus’ power was life, strength and health. Naturally this man’s loyalty was to his Healer. Romans 14:4 says, Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.” Like this man, let’s all keep our eyes on our Healer today.
