John 3:30-31 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.” Here John the Baptist continued describing his relationship to Jesus. It is in inverse proportions: Jesus goes up as John goes down in importance. Earthly people speak of earthly things. Do you realize the extreme privilege it is that earthly people can speak of heavenly things? This is why Jesus talked so much about being born from above to Nicodemus. John got it; Nic took a while. How much of what we say lifts up and reflects Jesus and deflects ourselves? He who comes from heaven is above all. Amen!
