John 3:20-21 says, “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” Scripture equates light with Jesus/biblical truth/ purity/goodness while darkness represents evil/falsehood/error. Light and darkness are always opposed to each other. Humans practicing evil consistently hate the light and seek cover while those who “walk in the light” (1 John 1:7) seek openness and accountability. Pray that outsiders around us see us as beacons of light, not comrades in darkness.
