Psalm 146:5-6 says, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever…” In the Bible, especially the New Testament, hope always speaks of a future. Our salvation in Jesus guarantees a future that can’t be beat: perfection in heaven with all of God’s people throughout all of time! The result is an outlook on life that is happy — upbeat and positive because the God of Jacob (as well as that of his grandfather Abraham and father Issac) guarantees it. He is the Creator God who made heaven and earth, the sea, etc. Who can top that?! He also keeps the truth forever, insuring that right(eousness) wins and evil and injustice are punished. Amen!
