Daniel 2:27-28a says, “Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, ‘The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.’” Before Daniel tells the king his dream and its meaning he clearly says it’s impossible for any human to know such “secrets,” including himself. Only the “God in heaven” knows them. He appropriately gives credit where credit is due. Then he says the king’s dream reveals “what will be in the latter days.” It’s about worldwide kingdoms of which Babylon was the first. He already used unsaved Nebuchadnezzar to vacate Israel from her land. God has his ways, times and people to accomplish his will. Let’s do our part eagerly today.
