Daniel 2:20-21a says, “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are his. And he changes the times and the seasons.’” Daniel begins his prayer of thanksgiving for revealing to him Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, which saved their lives. God certainly changed their “times and seasons” being captives in Babylon. Their generation was like no other Israeli generation. The risen Jesus told his disciples it wasn’t for them “to know the times and seasons” (Acts 1:7). Theirs was another generation unlike any other. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians he didn’t need to write them about “the times and seasons” (5:1) because they had God’s revelation. God is working his plan perfectly in the world. We are part of another unique generation in his plan. It is different than Daniel’s or the disciples’. Let’s faithfully seize every opportunity he gives us today for his glory.
