Daniel 2:18-19a says, “They [sought] mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” The heat was on! With their lives hanging in the balance, Daniel and his three colleagues earnestly prayed to “the God of heaven” for help. How can anyone know someone else’s dream unless God or the person tells you? So God answered “Daniel in a night vision.” Why Daniel? He was the wisest (vs. 21, 23) and that was God’s plan. The receiver isn’t as important as the revelation. All were saved and Nebuchadnezzar learned who the real God is. Like him, outsiders need believers around them to learn about God. Let’s live this way for them and God’s glory today.
