John 12:20-21 says, ” Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, ‘Sir, we wish to see Jesus.'” People filled Jerusalem after Jesus’ Triumphal Entry (Palm Sunday). Some “Greeks came up to worship” too, most likely proselytes. Imagine that: Gentiles in Jerusalem made them internationals. They approach Philip because he had a Greek name, suggesting possible familiarity with Greek language and culture. “We wish to see Jesus.” By now they had heard of Jesus and sought for him. Don’t we want this to happen to us — internationals hearing of Jesus and asking us because they see something in us that draws them to ask us? When we live by Kingdom values, often closer to other cultures’ values, we become spiritual magnets. Let’s consistently exhibit spiritual magnetism.
