Psalm 148:13 says, “Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above the earth and heaven.” Praising the LORD (Yahweh in Hebrew) is the conclusion of this song. The them who are to praise the LORD ranges from angels (v. 2), space objects (sun, moon, stars, vs. 3-4), earth objects (mountains, trees, oceans, vs. 7-9) animals (all kinds, v. 10) and mankind (kings to children, vs. 11-12). We live in a day where people want others to know their name, not God’s. John the Baptist described himself only as a “voice.” His name wasn’t important to him; God’s was. Let’s make sure we spend today bowing and confessing “that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11).
