Devotional Observation – May 3, 2017

Psalm 119:59-60 says, “I thought about my ways and turned my feet to your testimonies. I made haste and did not delay to keep your commandments.” The psalm writer did not merely “think” about his ways. The word here means to plan, devise, account, value, etc. In other words, he examined his ways with an intention to deliberately turn his feet to God’s ways found in his Word. Additionally he will do so in “haste,” quickly, without delay. There is no time to lose! As God told Cain, “Sin lies at the door, and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it” (Gen. 4:7). Let’s be rulers today, not slaves.
