John 8:10-11 says, “When Jesus had raised himself up and saw no one but the woman, he said to her, ‘Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?’ She said, ‘No one, Lord.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.'” Jesus had just melted the crowd wanting to stone a woman caught in adultery by saying all stone throwers should be without sin. The crowd’s departure was their admission of sin. In keeping with this, he tells her to “sin no more.” While she admitted no sin Jesus didn’t condemn her. John tells us multiple times that Jesus came not to condemn (3:17, 12:47). How quick are we to condemn others? Do we know more than our Lord? Let’s ‘join the crowd’ and drop our stones. Better yet, don’t pick them up!
