Psalm 119:41-42 says, “Let your mercies come also to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your word. So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word.” Here again we see the writer’s trust in the power of God’s word that releases mercy and salvation. But his concern is not only for himself; he wants his critic to see God’s power at work in his life as a witness to God’s faithfulness. He sees his life as an extension of God’s presence at work in the world. Hopefully, our perspective is the same.
