Psalm 109:4 says, “In return for my love they are my accusers, but I give myself to prayer.” David wrote this psalm about an unnamed enemy who hated him (v.3, 5) because of his faith. For David’s kindness toward him, his enemy accused him falsely. I have faced this and if you haven’t, most likely you will. David’s response was to turn to the Lord and keep praying for them because he trusted God to give him strength. In this he was like Jesus in the garden. Both men are models for us when we face conflict from ones who hate us.
